This is a real time-saver when you are creating multiple versions of the same plaque, name tag, or other item. Finally, you perform a merge with the data file itself. You then create a sample CorelDRAW document using the field names as placeholders. This might be an Excel file or some appropriately formatted text file. You create an external file which has fields and any number of records. Basically, Print Merge allows you to perform a graphical mail merge.
#Mail merge in coreldraw x6 series
I wrote a series of articles quite a few years ago on Print Merge, a valuable and often overlooked function.
VT provides an interesting alternative to CorelDRAW’s Print Merge function. One in particular caught my eye for the awards and recognition industry-Alexander Penkin’s VariablesTool macro (hereafter referred to as VT). Many programmers have produced add-on CorelDRAW macros that perform little tricks, add to, or enhance a feature set. If what you are working with right now suits your needs, you might wait until the first service pack comes out before taking the leap.ĬorelDRAW supports the creation of macros. Should you upgrade? I recommend patience. If you haven’t heard the big news, CorelDRAW X6 has been released! I’ve received many e-mails asking, “Should I upgrade? What d’ya think?” I am futzing with the new version but one feature may prove valuable enough for ARA members to consider upgrading: support for Open Type.
Let’s take a break from PHOTO-PAINT for a few issues, returning to CorelDRAW. We completed a pretty intense learning experience with masks in the May issue of Recognition Review.
